Presenting at Blackridge Elementary

Had a wonderful time presenting my books and talking about the craft of writing at Blackridge Elementary today. The children were super excited and very engaged... although that might have had more to do with the bearded dragon I brought than anything I said :)

Jonathan Haymaker Audio book

I am very excited to announce that we are in the beginning stages of producing an audio book for Jonathan Haymaker. Dragon Scale Publishing is working with ACX to screen auditions right now for narrators.

In addition to the royalty share agreement offered by Dragon Scale for the audio book production, ACX is paying $100 per finished hour as well to the producer. Given the fact that the audio book is estimated at 9 hours, that is approximately a $900 bonus on top of the royalty share!

If you happen to know anyone who does voice work, click here to be taken to the audition information on ACX.

  This should be fun!

Working on some very cool projects!

2016 is shaping up to be an incredible year so far. I am back in the gym hitting the weights harder than I have in years. I have a bit more of that stubborn fat to burn off, but I don't know many writers who can Squat 505, Bench 335, and Deadlift 505. Not world record numbers, but certainly better than when I started in January.

But, there are also a lot of writing projects that I am super thrilled to be a part of.

I just released Wealth of Kings, a story about Al taking over as King of Roegudok Hall after finishing his adventures with Erik Lokton in The Dragon's Champion series. However, we aren't done with the dwarves yet. I just got word that we are green-lighting a comic series about the dwarves of Roegudok Hall. It will be set in the founding years of the kingdom, and promises to be a lot of fun. I will keep you updated with that as the comic progresses.

Also, we are set to finish all six of the audio books for the Dragon's Champion series. (The first one is already out. Catch a preview of it here!)

And, of course there are more books on the way!

Check out The Fur Trader, available now for pre-order on kindle.

And there are still more surprises coming.

Dimwater is coming back in her sequel to Dimwater's Dragon.

And...

Jonathan Haymaker is making a comeback in an all new adventure!

More details to come!

Check out Al's all new adventure, The Wealth of Kings!

Al is back in his all new adventure. The Wealth of Kings is now available in e-book format. Click here to check it out! I hope you enjoy it.

Al has returned to his home in Roegudok Hall after his adventures with Erik and Master Lepkin finished. As any new king should, Al is quick to organize his kingdom and fill vacancies left in the royal court in the aftermath of the many battles the dwarves were pulled into.

Looking for greater wisdom, he turns to his father's library. He soon stumbles upon a dark secret that dwells in the depths of the mountain. Al's search for the Wealth of Kings, may prove to be his finest hour... or it might consume all who live within Roegudok Hall and unleash a terrible evil that was lost and buried during the time of the Ancients.

The Dragon's Champion audiobook is Finished :)

Creating an audiobook for The Dragon's Champion was a very interesting experience. Normally, when I write, I imagine voices, faces, demeanor, etc. for all of the characters. I know their backstories, their futures, and their hopes and fears. However, when I listen to a narrator bring the story to life, it feels almost as if I am hearing the story for the first time. Even though I know what is going to happen, the narration itself brings a new mystery to the book.

The good news- I quite enjoyed listening to it!

I was nervous at first. How would the male narrator handle the female voices? Would he get the pacing correct? What about pronouncing some of the names?

Luckily, I didn't need to worry about most of that. A lot of the time it was read the way I imagined it should be. The few times it wasn't, actually ended up being fine too, because it was part of a production that when taken as a whole was very entertaining. The names were ironed out once I sent a pronunciation guide too. (Any of you who have read the book know that Al the dwarf has a fairly difficult full name...)

All things considered, I am very happy with the production and looking forward to rolling out the audiobook version for the rest of the books in the series!

Be sure to check out the previews on Audible, Amazon, or iTunes!

The King's Ring is available now!

The second book in The Netherworld Gate series is out now. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Click here to check out The King's Ring.

I did put in a few Easter eggs and I am curious to see how people will respond to them. :)

Talon left a wide trail of blood in his wake as he hunted down the Tomni'Tai Scroll. Now, armed with a magical sword fashioned from one of the Ancients themselves, he is ready to pursue the next item on his list; The King's Ring. Once he attains it, he will have two of the three relics he needs to unleash an ancient army from the Netherworld Gate. Then he will turn his wrath to Basei, the demigod of battle.

Yet, still there is hope. Jahre, the elf sage of Selemet Isle has opened the possibility for Talon to use his powers for the good of Terramyr. Will the heroes succeed in persuading Talon away from his course of destruction, or will they be forced to rise against him?
