Puppy trouble

So...

We’re babysitting MIL’s dog while she’s out of town for a couple days. The dog is old. Like Keith Richards old.

No really— they got him back in like 2005. Which in dog years makes him like 119. So for all I know he IS Keith Richards and this is just what he looks like when he isn’t on stage.

Anyway— aside from being old, and needing help not getting stuck in corners he’s pretty chill. He’s also super tiny. He’s a Coton de Tulear and before he aspired to be the world’s oldest dog he was super cute and full of life.

Anyway…

This morning I let little Keith Richards out for a walk. Of course he started howling once he perceived he was stuck on a leaf.

Brought him in.

Took my kid to the bus.

Forgot. The. Dog. Diaper.

The stench of urine hit me from the kitchen.

How can one small animal make so much pee?!?!

Thing is-- the old diaper I took off so he could go outside was already full.

You'd think that would mitigate things right?

WRONG!

I had Lake Superior in the laundry room with a little furry lake monster shuffling around to help ensure it covered as much ground as possible.

If a dog's body is 80% water, then I just mopped up 110% of Wheaton and there is now an old ghost animating dry bones and fur, sitting smugly in the little dog bed while I futilely mop the lake.
