Welcome to Tales from Terramyr! Terramyr is the world I created, and where my books and stories come from. Here you may browse upcoming releases, musings of my sporadic and highly distracted mind, or see what I have been up to lately.

I hope 2019 is

I am very excited to reveal a special project that I have been working on over the last couple of months. At the request of my wife-- who also happens to be a teacher-- I designed a fantasy RPG-style math game for elementary students.
The game is aimed at 4th grade students to help them learn place values and reinforce some other math principles as well. Below I have posted a couple of screen shots as well as a brief intro video that I recorded this morning. --The video came out slower than the actual gameplay, but it gets the basic point across.
The feedback we have gotten from the test classes has been great, so if you know a 3rd-4th grader who likes games, this would be a great idea for them. The game is filled with puzzles, humor, and some good old fashioned RPG-style battles.
Right now we only have the PC version ready -- but the iOS and other operating system versions are coming soon.
I'm currently doing a soft release for only $4.99! And, that one-time purchase will not only get you the entire game, but if there are ever any updates, we will send out an email so you can download updated versions for free!
Take a look!
Here are some additional screenshots:
If you like it, be sure to snag it now for the special release price of $4.99!
A Land of Glass and Fire has officially launched! Woo-hoo! This is the fourth book in the Haymaker adventure series, but can be read as a stand alone, so if you haven't read the other three books you'd still enjoy this. (Although you will get more out of it having first read the others...)
I've been anxious to write another Jonathan Haymaker book for a while and this one was a lot of fun. I was able to play with his character in ways that I haven't done before and put him in some entirely new situations. (And no spoilers, but there are some really, really fun things that come out in this particular book!)
Still, despite my excitement, I have been disheartened to hear that there were some problems with some of the very first copies to go out. As far as I know, the problem isn't widespread, but I have heard of five instances where the book files didn't download properly and stopped the book at the end of chapter 12 (But randomly including the back matter like my bio at the end.). If you are one of these five people, rest assured that Dragon Scale Publishing is working with Amazon to handle it. The super short update is that DSP has fixed any upload issues on their end, and is now just waiting for Amazon to fix the affected readers' files, which should happen in the next little while. However, most people were not affected at all, and there have been no new issues reported since yesterday evening, meaning that anyone who purchases the book from here on out is guaranteed to get the book in its entirety. If you want to make sure you have the complete version, just make sure you have 15 chapters (technically 16 if you count the prologue as an additional chapter). You know what they say, whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger... so perhaps the book will be stronger somehow for having a glitch ;)
In any case, I am very excited to have this out for you and am anxious to see what you all think about A Land of Glass and Fire.
For those of you that have read Karlax's story to this point, the time has come for the next cover reveal and pre-order!
With new allies at his back, Karlax must venture beyond the borders of
his fledgling kingdom if he is to have any hope of protecting his family
and friends.
But as he begins his offensive against his
greatest nemesis, an old feud boils to the surface from within. Can the
alliance between dragons and men endure? Or will this final test break
their bond forever?
I have been working with author Eric Buffington on this project for a while now and I am super excited about it. If you haven't seen Eric's work before, then definitely check out The Troven -- it's an amazing fantasy adventure that spent 50 consecutive weeks in the top 100 of its category upon release. (I'll link to it at the bottom.)
If you have read Eric's work, then you already know how fun it can be. Now, imagine there is a group of five teens running away from their home town only to wind up smack dab in the middle of a ruthless assassin's plot and fouling things up -- because that is what kicks this adventure off. A good amount of action sprinkled with some fun humor is bound to give you a good time.
Check out Wren and the Ravens! You won't be disappointed.
